Why I Wrote Unbroken

Yesterday, I shared how this book began—how Unbroken grew from over a decade of journaling and blog posts into something I never imagined I’d write. Today, I want to tell you why I wrote it.

For so long, my story felt too heavy to share. The grief of losing Michael, the trauma I’d carried quietly for years, and the pressure of holding everything together as a single mom often felt too raw to put into words. But over time, I realized that my silence was keeping me isolated—and I knew I wasn’t the only one carrying pain in secret.

I wrote Unbroken because someone out there needs to know they’re not alone. Someone needs to know that healing doesn’t have to be perfect, that faith can feel quiet and uncertain, and that you can rebuild even when life has left you shattered.

Every chapter of this book was born out of my most vulnerable seasons, but also out of resilience. It’s a love letter to every person who has stood in front of a mirror wondering how they’ll make it another day. It’s proof that you can walk through unimaginable heartbreak and still find joy, meaning, and purpose again.

Unbroken isn’t a story about getting it right. It’s a story about survival, grace, and finding beauty in the mess. My hope is that when you read it, you’ll see yourself somewhere in these pages—and maybe start believing that your story matters too.

The release date is coming soon. Make sure you join the launch list for exclusive updates and a sneak peek of the first chapter.
